وحالما تجتاز لقاحات كوفيد-19 بنجاح مرحلة التجارب ويتم ترخيصها والتوصية باستخدامها، سيحتاج العالم لعدد كبير من المحاقن بقدر حاجته لجرعات اللقاح. وللبدء بالاستعدادات، ستجمع اليونيسف في هذا العام 520 مليون محقن في مخازنها، في إطار خطة أكبر لجمع بليون محقن بحلول نهاية عام 2021، وذلك لضمان الإمداد الأولي وللمساعدة في ضمان وصول المحاقن إلى البلدان
