منذ أن سقطت فلسطين في قبضة الاحتلال، بدأ مسلسل لا يتوقف من المعاناة يحاصر الفلسطينيين جراء سياسات سلطات الاحتلال التي استهدفت الشعب الفلسطيني بكل مقدراته ومكوناته وتفاصيله اليومية، من خلال جملة من الممارسات التعسفية من قتل، وجرح، واعتقال، وتشريد وإبعاد، وإقامة جبرية، ومصادرة أراض واستيطان، وجدران، وحواجز، وبوابات، واقتحامات، وحظر تجول، وحصار؛ والقائمة تطول.
لم يكن الطفل الفلسطيني بمعزل عن هذه الإجراءات التعسفية التي تمارسها سلطات الاحتلال؛ بل كان في مقدمة ضحاياها؛ رغم الاتفاقيات والمعاهدات والمواثيق والقوانين الدولية التي تنص على حقوق الأطفال؛ وفي مقدمتها "اتفاقية حقوق الطفل"، التي تنادي بحق الطفل بالحياة والحرية والعيش بمستوى ملائم، والرعاية الصحية، والتعليم، والترفيه، واللعب، والأمن النفسي، والسلام.
ويمكن استعراض بعض الجرائم التي ترتكبها سلطات الاحتلال بحق الأطفال الفلسطينيين، والتي تندرج في إطار "جرائم ضد الإنسانية" و"جرائم الحرب"
{اعتقال الاطفال}
اعتقلت سلطات الاحتلال منذ عام 1967. انتفاضة الأقصى اعتقل أكثر من 10 آلاف طفل ؛ الحب 700 طفل.
